1. GOLDEN PHEASANT
Golden pheasants are renowned around the world for their brilliantly colored golden-yellow plumage. Their underparts are similarly brilliantly colored in bright red, their sides and throat a rusty tan. Males are far more colorful than females being a duller mottled brown plumage.
2. SCARLET MACAW
The Scarlet Macaw is without a doubt one of the most beautiful members of the macaw family. They prefer to inhabit the humid evergreen forests across Central and South America.
Famous for their bright coloring they have red plumage with a blue back. Their upper wing area is yellow-edged with green.
3. FLAMINGO
Quite possibly the Flamingo is the most recognizable wading bird in the world. Their plumage is a stunning shade of pink to red there are 6 species of Flamingo worldwide. An adult flamingo can measure up to 5 feet tall and weigh in at 3.6 kg.
4. PEACOCK
Many people think the name Peacock is the name of a species of bird, but it is actually the name of the male bird of the peafowl family. There are three types of peafowl in the world – Indian, Green, and Congo peafowl. The Indian peafowl is the most common type of peafowl in the world with males well known for their colorful tail displays. These birds can grow up to 5 feet in length with the tail making 60%of its total length.
5. KEEL-BILLED TOUCAN
Keel-billed toucans are well known for their beautiful bills. Their multi-colored bills can reach up to 20 cm in length. The bill itself is hollow and incredibly light being a mixture of red, green, red, and yellow. These birds can be found in Central and South America.
6. ATLANTIC PUFFIN
Atlantic puffins are seabirds found along the coasts of the Northern United States and Eastern Canada. They have a multi-colored bill and a penguin-like black and white suit. They spend most of their time at sea using their wings to swim under the surface.
7. BLUE JAY
The blue jay (Cyanocitta cristata) is a small colorful bird native to North America. They are predominantly blue in color with a white chest and underparts, and a blue crest; they have a black, U-shaped collar around the neck and a black border behind the crest. Resident populations are found in Newfoundland, Canada, with breeding populations found across some parts of southern Canada.
8. BOHEMIAN WAXWING
The Bohemian waxwing is a highly distinctive medium-sized songbird with a sweptback crest and black mask. An overall grey-to-brown bird with white-to-yellow edging on the wing makes this a highly attractive bird. Bohemian waxwings inhabit boreal forests across North America and Eurasia. Both male and female birds dine on insects and berries and are well known for their high-pitched calls.
9. WOOD DUCK
The wood duck or Carolina duck is a species of perching duck found in North America. Alon with the Mandarin duck is known to be one of the most beautiful waterfowl in the world. Males wear a purple to green head, and crest with a white belly and red chest. Layered around the neck are delicate white stripes. The wings are blue and black. Female ducks are as colorful as their male counterparts.
10. HYACINTH MACAW
Besides being the largest of the flying parrots the Hyacinth Macaw is also known as one of the most striking in its suit of cobalt blue. Due to its suit of blue, it is known as the beautiful macaw. Found in semi-open areas and savannah grasslands of Northern Brazil, sadly the population of these beautiful birds is in decline.
